Assessment - Staff

Dr. Patricia Porter - A specialist in Speech/Language Pathology, former Associate Director of the Center for Literacy and Disability Studies, and the former Chief of the Developmental Disabilities Services in the NC Department of Health and Human Services.

Dr. Karen Erickson, Lead Special Educator. She is the Director of the Center for Literacy and Disability Studies in the Department of Allied Health Sciences at UNC-CH. Dr. Erickson is a nationally known and highly respected specialist in work with children with severe communications challenges and the clinical application of technology to enhance communication in children.

Dr. Joshua Alexander, Pediatric Consultant. Head of Pediatric Rehab Services at UNC-CH. Dr. Alexander was a member of the Phase 1 Planning Council and is a member of the Board of New Voices Foundation.
